Behind the Scenes: Cooks – BlenderNation

INTRODUCTION

Hiya, I am Valentin Minzikovsky, a self-taught 3D animation fanatic from Germany, a former dancer, dance trainer, and choreographer. I really like 3D Animation as a solution to carry on dancing.

INSPIRATION

My “Cooks” art work was impressed by this pleasant dance:

Phil and Jay from Blender Studio’s characters handed the casting because the lead actors.

ADD-ONS USED

Listed here are among the add-ons I used for this challenge,

  • Animbox: This addon presents numerous instruments to help with object animation, movement design, and sculpting.
  • Rigify Animbox: This addon gives animation instruments and animation presets (walk-run cycle) for Rigify human and animal metarigs.
  • Dynamic Parent: It is helpful for controlling actions within the animation.
  • Bone Widget: This makes controlling character bones less complicated.

Each of my addons (Animbox and Rigify Animbox) are principally about animation, not rigging (simply rudimentary rigging additions).

PROCESS

The cooks’ hats had been merely modeled utilizing a torus and a cylinder and had been prepared to enter manufacturing. The animation course of was fairly easy, involving steps like blocking, modifying, refining, and playblasting. I do not use the Graph Editor very a lot as a result of the Quaternion rotation system in Blender is phenomenal, and the transition from pose to pose could be very predictable.

Here is an instance of the workspace:

It was additionally very useful to have the ability to show the audio waveform inside Blender:

The stage scenes had been intentionally stored easy.

That is all!

Beneath is the animation and among the renders. Hope you want them!
